The PhD scholarship is entitled "Targets, mechanisms and consequences of regulated T cell pre-mRNA splicing and their relevance as genetic markers of virally induced or general T cell suppression" and is vacant in the group of S. Schneider-Schaulies at the Institute of Virology and Immunobiology.

Internationales Graduiertenkolleg 1522 "HIV/AIDS and associated Infectious Diseases in Southern Africa". A PhD scholarship is vacant as of January 2010 in the group of Sibylle Schneider-Schaulies at the Institute of Virology and Immunobiology, University of Würzburg. The project is entitled
„Targets, mechanisms and consequences of regulated T cell pre-mRNA splicing and their relevance as genetic markers of virally induced or general T cell suppression"
and specifically addressed to applicants interested in cell biology and immunologys. Applications are invited from all nationals, with a Master's degree in a relevant area. Beneficiaries must register for fulltime doctoral study.
The project is embedded within the DFG-funded International Research Training Group (IRTG) “HIV/AIDS and Associated Infectious Diseases’ which is hosted by the University of Wuerzburg and part of the Graduate School of Life Sciences. An elaborated post-graduate education programme is central to the IRTG. Participants are expected to actively participate in these activities including regular "jours fixes", seminars etc. They will be given the opportunity to attend retreats and summer schools on relevant topics. They will spend approximately six months during their period of study at the partner laboratories in South Africa.
